What is Lilora?

Lilora is a children’s play brand built around a simple idea: the things children use every day can be better designed.

We create play tools that bring together good design, developmental value, safety and longevity. They are made for real childhoods and real homes, where play happens alongside everything else.

Our first collection begins with CloudBounce, with more original play products in development.

Why was Lilora created?

Because we felt there was a gap.

Children’s products often sit at one of two extremes. They can be bright, busy and disposable, or they can be highly developmental but feel more like equipment than something you actually want in your home.

We wanted to make something different: products children genuinely want to use, parents feel good about having around, and families can return to over time.

Why is development such an important part of early childhood?

Because childhood is a period of extraordinary development, and play is part of how that development happens.

Our products are designed to encourage things like strength, balance, agility, coordination, creativity and confidence through active, self-directed play.

We don't think development needs to look like a lesson. Some of the best learning looks suspiciously like having a very good time.

Does should children should spend less time on screens?

We believe children benefit from having compelling things to do away from screens.

Screens are easy to reach for, particularly when indoor space and everyday opportunities for active play are limited. Our aim is to create physical play experiences that children are naturally drawn towards, rather than simply telling them to put the screen down.

Why focus on active play?

Children learn through their whole bodies.

Jumping, balancing, climbing, rolling and moving through space give children opportunities to develop physical skills while also experimenting, making decisions and figuring things out for themselves.

Why indoor play?

For many urban families, outdoor play is not always easy to come by. Space, safety, weather and the realities of city life can all shape how and where children play.

We want to make indoor spaces more capable of supporting an active childhood, without making the home feel like a playroom.

What does "longevity by design" mean?

It means creating products that can stay interesting as a child grows.

Rather than designing something for one very specific moment, we look for ways a product can be replayed, rediscovered and used differently over time.

Does a parent need to teach their child how to use Lilora products?

No. We design products that children can explore independently, while parents can join in whenever they want.

There is value in showing a child what something can do, but there is equally valuable space in letting them figure it out themselves.

Why does Lilora care about design?

Because children's products live in people's homes. We believe parents shouldn't have to choose between giving their children excellent things to play with and creating a home they enjoy living in. That is why design is not decoration for us. It is part of the product itself.

Why don't Lilora products look like traditional children's products?

Because we don't think children need to be surrounded by things that visually announce themselves as "for kids." We want products to feel contemporary, thoughtful and at home in the spaces where families actually live, while still being genuinely fun for children.

Why does Lilora focus on products that grow with children?

Because childhood changes quickly. A product that only works for one narrow stage can have a very short life. We look for opportunities to make products that can be revisited and interpreted differently as children grow. Longevity is one of the central principles in Lilora's product development.

Where are Lilora products made?

Lilora is building an in-house design-led product range with a focus on thoughtful manufacturing and safety.

The brand's broader vision is to establish a design-first developmental play category in India, with original products developed specifically for children's needs and contemporary Indian homes.

Who founded Lilora?

Lilora was founded by Akhilesh Sandeep and Goutham S M. Together, they are building Lilora around the intersection of design, development and modern family life.

What is CloudBounce?

CloudBounce is Lilora's first original product: an elegantly designed inflatable play cushion that brings the joy of bouncing into the home. It combines a firm, responsive jumping surface with a soft form that can become part of everyday family life beyond jumping.

Is CloudBounce a trampoline?

Not quite. CloudBounce uses high-pressure dropstitch construction to create a firm, responsive surface with a trampoline-like bounce, while keeping the product inflatable and portable.

What is dropstitch?

Dropstitch is a construction method that connects the top and bottom surfaces of an inflatable product with thousands of internal threads. When inflated to pressure, this creates a much firmer and more structured surface than a conventional inflatable.

For CloudBounce, that means a stable, responsive surface designed for active play.

Is CloudBounce soft or firm?

Firm. CloudBounce is designed to have a responsive, trampoline-like bounce rather than the loose, squishy feeling associated with typical inflatables.

What can children do on CloudBounce?

Jump, bounce, balance, climb on and around it, create games, use it as a little stage, turn it into part of a fort, or simply lounge on it. The idea is that CloudBounce can change with the child and the moment.

Is CloudBounce only for jumping?

Definitely not. Jumping is the starting point, but the product is designed to have a much longer life in the room. It can become a reading spot, lounging space, stage or part of imaginative play.

We want CloudBounce to remain interesting after the novelty of the first jump wears off.

What age is CloudBounce suitable for?

CloudBounce is designed for children aged 18 months and above. As with any active play product, children should use it appropriately for their age and ability, with adult supervision where required.

Can more than one child use CloudBounce?

CloudBounce is designed to support multi-age play, but how it is used should always be appropriate to the children's ages, abilities and the available space. For energetic or more physical play, we recommend giving children enough room to move safely.

Can adults use CloudBounce?

CloudBounce is designed primarily for children's play. Its construction is robust, but it should be used according to the product's stated safety and weight guidelines.

Does CloudBounce need to stay inflated?

No. One of the advantages of its inflatable construction is that it can be inflated when needed and deflated for easier storage or transport.

How long does it take to inflate?

CloudBounce is designed to inflate and deflate in under five minutes using the appropriate pump and valve setup.

Is CloudBounce safe?

Safety is a fundamental part of how we design our products. The CloudBounce concept has been tested, and Lilora's broader product approach includes age-appropriate design and safety considerations.

Where should I use CloudBounce?

CloudBounce is designed for indoor use and should be placed on an appropriate, clear surface with sufficient room around it for safe play.

The space matters as much as the product. Give children room to bounce, move and land comfortably.

Can CloudBounce be used as furniture?

CloudBounce is intentionally designed to have uses beyond active play. It can become a seat, reading nook or lounging spot when the bouncing is over.

This is part of Lilora's belief that children's products can have a natural place in the home rather than disappearing into storage after playtime.

Development Faqs

What skills does active play develop?

Active play can support a wide range of physical and cognitive skills. Depending on the activity, children may practise balance, coordination, strength, spatial awareness, agility, body control, problem-solving and confidence. Lilora's product philosophy is built around supporting whole-child development through play.

How does jumping help a child's development?

Jumping involves much more than getting off the ground. Children are coordinating their bodies, judging distance, controlling their landings, adjusting their balance and learning how their bodies respond to movement.

Repeated physical play also gives children opportunities to practise a skill, notice what works and try again.

Can physical play support confidence?

Yes. When children experiment physically, they are constantly making small decisions: Can I do this? Can I go a little higher? What happens if I try it differently? Successfully figuring something out can build a sense of capability and self-trust.

Why is independent play important?

Independent play gives children room to make their own decisions. Without an adult directing every step, children have to decide what to do, how to use something and what happens next. That can encourage autonomy, experimentation and confidence. Lilora specifically sees independent play as an important part of development.

Should parents actively participate in play?

They can, but they don't always need to. Sometimes the best thing an adult can do is provide a safe environment and step back. Children are remarkably good at inventing their own rules once they're given something interesting to work with.

Is boredom actually good for children?

A little boredom can be useful. When children aren't constantly given an activity, instruction or entertainment, they have an opportunity to decide what to do themselves. That can be where games, stories and experiments begin.

We don't think every minute of childhood needs programming.

Does imaginative play count as developmental play?

Absolutely. When children turn a cushion into a mountain, a stage into a spaceship or an everyday object into something completely unexpected, they're making connections between ideas and the physical world around them.

Open-ended objects can give them plenty of room to do this.

Does play have to be educational to be valuable?

No. Children don't need to know what skill they're developing for the experience to be worthwhile. Our view is that good play can support development precisely because it is enjoyable enough that children want to keep doing it.
